The Reindeer Research Program (RRP) with funding from the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) has developed a mapping system to create google earth files of ecosites, reindeer satellite collar locations and plant nutrient values on the Seward Peninsula, Alaska. The system builds upon prior work done by NRCS to define and identify ecosites on the Seward Peninsula, combined with formulas developed by Greg Finstad as part of his PHD thesis, and the RRP's ongoing reindeer satellite collar program (which has also benefited greatly from NRCS funding).

This page will be the main entry point for accessing the system & files generated. Some of the data will only be made available to agency & reindeer herders since it may show animal locations. Other maps & data may be publicly available but require the user to sign up and get a userid/password due the mapping systems operational requirements.
